HUG guide
Which garment are you wearing?
You should always be able to take a full, deep breath and move your arms freely.
Aim for less than 8 hours of binding a day , and take breaks whenever you can. If you are under 18, shorter periods — around 6 hours — are recommended.
Never sleep in your binder.
For sport, swimming or strenuous activity, make sure breathing and movement remain unrestricted. Stop or change into lighter support if they don’t.
Take off your binder if you experience pain, numbness, tingling, dizziness, unusual breathlessness, overheating, rubbing or skin irritation.
Want a quick break? Somewhere private, simply slip your arms out and pull the binder below your chest or down to your waist or take off your binder so your chest can completely relax. Put it back on when you're ready.
If you have a condition affecting your breathing, ribs, back or chest, talk to an appropriate health professional about binding.
Start with the correct fit. Tighter does not mean flatter.
Once your binder is on, use your hands to gently arrange your chest until you like the silhouette.
For a flatter look, many suggest moving tissue out towards the underarms , slightly upward or gently down-and-out.
Experiment. Different clothes may look better with slightly different positioning.
Avoid forcing or folding breast tissue sharply downward. Your chest should feel comfortably supported, with no pinching or concentrated pressure.
The interior silicone print should hold your finished silhouette in place once you have arranged it.
The HUG Half-Bind is designed for lighter compression, support and reshaping. There isn't one correct way to wear it — arrange your chest for the silhouette you want on the day.
For a more streamlined silhouette: gently spread tissue up or down out towards the underarms.
For fuller, more lifted: lift breast upward before smoothing the garment into place.
For extra cleavage: lift and bring the breasts gently up and towards the centre.
Sport / active support: centre and lift the breasts so they feel evenly supported and secure, with comfortable breathing and full movement.
Under a particular outfit: move your tissue around until the shape works with the neckline, cut and silhouette you're wearing.
Or simply arrange everything wherever your body looks and feels best.
Once you're happy, the interior silicone print helps hold that silhouette in place.
Half-Bind is less compressive than Full-Bind, but listen to the needs of your body.
You should be able to breathe deeply, raise your arms and move normally.
If you're using Half-Bind to significantly flatten your chest, follow normal binder precautions: keep binding periods under 8 hours, take regular breaks, and don’t sleep in a binder.
Remove if you experience pain, numbness, tingling, unusual breathlessness, dizziness, overheating, rubbing or skin irritation.
Need a bra break? Slip your arms out and pull or fold the garment below your chest or down to your waist. Your chest gets a break, and it's easy to put everything back where you want it afterwards.
